The mill community grew up around Iföverken, which was established there due to its proximity to limestone and the kaolin quarry on Ivö. Iföverken had the architect Nils A Blank build Hotell Iföhus. The building was characterized by natural materials such as stone, wood, ceramics and glass. Durable and timeless material that required solid craftsmanship. Nothing was skimped on and the interior was tailor-made in detail. In 1935, the hotel opened and Miss Ida Ahlgren, who was employed by Iföverken, ran the business for many years. Since then, it has been run and owned by housewives, cellar masters and restaurateurs. After being in Bromölla Municipalitys ownership recently, ownership and operation were taken over by Valla and Joakim. The hotel is undergoing an extensive but very careful renovation all in order to preserve the genuine that it once started with. With the hope of becoming an obvious meeting place for both Bromölla residents and guestsHotel Iföhus has 20 rooms in various sizes that are divided into small, medium, large and extra large. All rooms are renovated and have new furniture, shower, toilet, TV and wifi. Parking directly adjacent to the hotel.
